Choosing Accommodation: China Rooms

In preparing for any vacation, there are important decisions to be made about how to get there, what to do while you are there and where to stay during your trip. Finding suitable accommodation can be a bit tricky since you have to consider the standard of hotel you wish to stay in, your budget and schedule.

While visiting China rooms can be found in most every price range. Many upper market hotels offer truly luxurious rooms with all that you would expect from a five star hotel, beautiful fittings and furnishings, air conditioning, Internet access and all that you might require.

On the other end of the spectrum we have budget hotels. China does have quite a few budget hotels that offer similar services to budget hotels in other countries. If your finances are limited and you want to get fair quality at the most affordable rate, budget hotels are the way to go.

With the world economy in a slump tourism in general is taking a hit. This is true in China as well, and hotels, including budget hotels are doing all they can to get the customers they need. This means that it is easier than ever to find a great deal on China rooms at budget hotels, as well as other types of hotels.

Generally speaking China rooms for rent are of a good standard. However, as in many countries, if you look outside the chain hotels and motels you are likely to run into some lodging of very poor quality. You may end up in uncomfortable quarters with strangers sharing the room and less than sanitary facilities. Some backpackers may be fine with this type of arrangement, but make sure you know what you are getting into before you book your stay.

One of the best ways to know what to expect of China rooms in a given establishment is to get all the information you can online. Images of the building and rooms should be available for most hotels. Pictures may tell a thousand words, but all of those words aren’t necessarily the truth. Look into reviews written by people who stayed in the hotel, especially if does not have a star rating. Even if it does, you will want to know about the level of service, as some hotels seem to have less than friendly staff.

Whether you are staying in downtown Shanghai or off the beaten path in a smaller hotel, finding rooms in China is not difficult and they are usually clean and functional, if not quite what you would expect in western hotels. The price you pay depends largely on how early you book, the season you travel during and they length of your stay. To get the best deals and find the right type of accommodation and know what to expect, look online or contact a travel agent for details.
